About

Soviet strength, working class gains: what Swoletariat is about

Swoletariat is bodybuilding apparel forged in the spirit of the people: vintage Soviet propaganda art meets iron culture, printed on tank tops, tees and more, and sold worldwide through Amazon.

Where two worlds collide

Swoletariat was born where the raw aesthetics of Soviet constructivist propaganda meet the universal church of the weight room. Every design is a nod to the bold visual language of revolution, reimagined for people who believe strength belongs to the people.

The masthead says Est. MMXXII and Workers of the Gym, Unite. The mission says the rest: the iron doesn't care about your class, and neither do we. No gatekeeping. No excuses. Just lift.

The collection

The collection currently runs to six unique designs, from tank tops to tees and more, all made to be worn under a barbell rather than framed on a wall.

Everything is sold through Amazon marketplaces, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Japan, so the same designs are available wherever you lift. The home page calls the collection Arm the Proletariat, and that is the spirit of it.

Who it is for

Lifters, first of all: people who want gym apparel that says something and is built to train in. Beyond that, anyone drawn to the constructivist look, collectors of propaganda poster art, and people who believe the weight room should belong to everyone who shows up, not to a clique. If the phrase Workers of the Gym, Unite makes you grin, you are the audience.

Dispatches from the front lines

Dispatches is the blog, and it goes wider than the shirts. There is a visual history and collector's guide to Soviet propaganda poster art, a no-BS guide to the best workout tank tops for lifters who actually lift, a piece on decorating a home gym so it actually motivates you, and an essay on breaking the stereotype around spaces like the gym, the range and the trail that get culturally gatekept but belong to everyone.
